Great conditions for football this week and the action matched the conditions.
At Coundon Court, the U14 Girls proved too strong for Lillington, Naomi and Leah leading the scoring as they both registered hat-tricks. The U8 Boys, a team put together in a very short space of time pre-season, continue to show great improvement and enjoyed a terrific contest with Rugby Eagles.
A number of teams were on the road, in the Cup the U18 Girls were always competitive with Sporting Khalsa but the home side scored at key times as the 4-1 scoreline flattered them. Katie scoring with a terrific 25 yard drive for the Lions. Better news for the U12 Girls against the same opposition, their 5-0 win consolidates their place at the top of the table. Mia (2), Kenzi (2) and Grace all on target. The U15 Girls showed great fight as they lost 2-0 at top of the table North Birmingham Celtic. The U13 Girls came from behind twice against Bournville to earn a point, Megan with both goals. Another team showing real improvement are the U9 Girls as they travelled to Knowle. The U10s also continue to impress coach Simon, they enjoyed an entertaining game with Central Ajax. The Lions goals were scored by Mia (3), Ava and Summer. The U11 Girls were at Solihull Vixens and the U7s at Rugby Town Lions where Harry (3), Connor (2) and Dan scored.
On Sunday, the U11 Boys finished 2-2 with Alvis Colts after goals from Freddi and Olly, but it was Alvis who went through on penalties in the Autumn Trophy. The U12s suffered a second half collapse at Christ the King after being level at the break, Sam with the Lions goal. The U9s lost 4-1 to Alvis in the Autumn Trophy and in the U13 League both the Red and Black teams suffered defeat to Kenilworth Wardens and Coventry Saracens respectively.
The Ladies rounded off the action with a fine 4-1 win over Kingshurst, despite going a goal down in the first half to a good strike, the girls put in their best attacking performance of the season which saw a double each from Ria and Tash.
